Major Photography Help for Las Vegas Weddings

By Renae Judkins Photography for Las Vegas weddings can become obscure for out-of-towners, especially if a couple who is engaged has never contracted a photographer before. In fact, many aspects of cameras and photographs for Las Vegas weddings can become unclear. Here are several points for photography for Las Vegas weddings. Photo Wedding Invitations With one snapshot, the photograph featured with an invitation shows everything that a couple loves and is about. Photo wedding invitations are the perfect way to show a couple’s uniqueness. Using photo wedding invitations is a great way to create a unique invitation that will stand out from the crowd. If youd like to have beach wedding invitations or photo wedding invitations, have them designed or create them on your own. Camera Wedding Favors Camera favors can be personalized with a couple’s names and wedding date. Disposable cameras for weddings come in a wide variety of colors and themes to match the couples choice of colors and themes. You can get disposable cameras in packs of 2 or 4 to save money and many dollar stores carry photo albums of surprisingly good quality. The camera can be used to capture candid moments from the reception and the album can protect those treasured snapshots for years to come. Engagement Photos Engagement photos are sometimes framed and used more than once, whether it’s at the reception as decorations or as wall-hangings in the couple’s new home. These shots are many times used in newspapers and other publications to accompany engagement announcements, so having professional photos taken is probably the best idea if you plan on announcing your engagement in a local publication. Be sure to check your newspapers guidelines for photo submission to be sure you are following their requirements for photo size and other criteria for each submission. Wedding party Photos, Ceremony Photos Wedding party photos include the man and woman, best man, bridesmaids, maid (or matron) of honor, ring bearer, flower girl, ushers, and anyone else involved in the family members. Wedding party photos are the formal part of the wedding photography. These photos are sometimes formal and the photographer may carefully plan each shot so that you can choose from the best pictures when the proofs become available. Often, Elvis is included as a member of the bridal party for Las Vegas weddings. Your photographer can snap pictures at special moments like the lighting of unity candles, your first kiss as husband and wife, the bridal party processional, and other special times. Because these will be candid shots, they will be a beautiful reminder of several the special moments during your wedding. General Wedding Photography Photos can be taken of the bride getting ready to walk down the aisle, the groom waiting at the altar for the bride to enter, and the happy couple when the ceremony has ended and they are getting ready for the recessional. Youll treasure all of these photos every time you open your wedding album. Good luck finding your ideal photographer for Las Vegas weddings. Five Ways for Women to Accelerate Their Career

By Roxanne Batson While the corporate world may no longer be a man’s game, the sad truth is that businesswomen are still paid less than men for the same positions, and fewer women than men fill the top positions. Further, when a woman is assertive and works hard to get ahead, it can be misinterpreted whereas this behavior is admired and rewarded in men. What can women do to get ahead without putting out the wrong impression? A woman can do many things to prove and market herself in the business world. Supporting one another in these endeavors is also important. Network, Network, Network You’ve heard it before, but it’s so true–the more people you know, the better opportunities you’ll discover. Most companies fill positions through inside sources. You’re much less likely to find your dream job through the classifieds. Moreover, if that promotion keeps eluding you, advancement through another company may be the answer. Networking gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your professionalism by helping others and providing information as you are able. People remember these things, and your name might pop up when an opportunity comes along. Get involved with business functions and professional organizations. Take on a volunteer position through the organization or serve as a contact person for new members. The more people you know the better. Determine Your Niche What do you do best? Why do you do this better, or how are you able to fill a need that others cannot? Just as a specialty store offers products or services that the mainstream department stores do not, so too can you (and should you) develop a skill set that sets you apart. Are you an engineer with strong communication and social skills? Do you have particularly strong leadership, analytical, or outstanding project management skills? If so, use these to your advantage. Volunteer to take on projects that will let you shine (and if they’re the types of projects that no one else wants, that’s even better). When the project goes well, be sure that people know about it. This doesn’t mean that you walk around the office bragging about it to everyone, but it does mean that you get the word out. Most projects require some type of follow-up or project summary, which is the perfect way to summarize everything that went well and your role in the project’s success. Script and Practice Your Elevator Speech An elevator speech is a brief summary (about thirty seconds or so) designed to market yourself, outlining who you are and what you do. This is used in networking, but also “on the spot,” when you suddenly find yourself in a situation where someone wants to know what you are all about. The purpose of the elevator speech is to have something prepared ahead of time for these situations. This way you’re not caught off guard, and you know exactly what to say. Yes, it’s a memorized summary of your career and experience, but of course, you can ad lib as necessary. Also, be aware of the proper times to use your elevator speech. As a professional, you understand that some situations are inappropriate for this kind of chat. However, many businesswomen hold back when the time is right. If you have something prepared, this is a real confidence booster when the opportunity presents itself. Be a Walking Resume Many people don’t like the idea of bragging–or more correctly–listing accomplishments and achievements on their resume because the idea of tooting their own horn makes them uncomfortable. The simple fact is, if you don’t toot your own horn, no one will do it for you. This means that you not only develop a powerful paper resume, but also that you make sure others are aware of your achievements on a regular basis. While this may sound like you’ll be a walking braggart, it doesn’t need to be this way. For example, schedule regular appointments with your boss to review current and upcoming work. While there, be sure to tell her about your successes. Annual reviews are great, but your co-workers and superiors are not going to remember everything; a few reminders along the way can work to your advantage. Keep as much of this in writing as possible. Document the hard numbers, comments from clients and coworkers, and anything else that supports your success. When clients or coworkers congratulate you on your work, ask for it in writing. If this makes you uncomfortable, say that you want to add it to the project file for future reference of what went well so that it can be repeated on future assignments. Keep Moving Forward In nearly every profession, those at the top say one of the primary reasons they ended up where they are is because they didn’t give up. The millionaire mindset is one of not giving up. Persistence is key. There are always setbacks, and unfortunately, women have more hurdles to overcome from the outset. These can be viewed as negatives or a challenge. If you value yourself and your contributions, you will be better prepared to handle the setbacks. People will not always support your goals, you won’t always get the promotion, and you won’t always love your job. You will struggle with how to overcome challenges, balance your work and family life, and how to move ahead while maintaining positive, proactive relationships. However, leading women entrepreneurs, women business owners, and women in leadership roles all have one thing in common: they never quit. ******************************** Roxanne is managing partner of WomenCorp an international womens leadership development company that provides experiential learning programs for women who want to succeed in business and life. Marketing Shortcut for Busy Professionals

By Kendall SummerHawk One of the big shifts you can make in your business is to switch your marketing from a “riding shotgun” approach to a strategic campaign. It’s actually simpler than what you’re doing now so let me show you what I mean, and how you can create your own successful marketing campaign. First, all a campaign is, is a series of steps leading up to an outcome. For example: let’s say your outcome is the launch of a new group coaching, training program, product launch, filling a seminar, or even just that you have a few new client openings in your schedule. What matters is that you have a specific outcome date you’re focused on as your launch. Once you have your launch date, the next step is to create a previewor “showcase” as one of my HorseWise Brilliance Unbridled clients calls it. In your preview, you’ll unveil your new group/product/training/openings. Your preview is either free, or very modestly priced. The goal of your preview is to accomplish 3 things. It’s an easy way for prospective clients to: #1 Say “yes” to attending. Why? Because there is virtually no decisions being made of them (yet). #2 Get comfortable with you so they know, like, and trust you. #3 Gain a clear picture of the results they will achieve by hiring you or joining your program. Now, instead of trying to fill your program or seminar, your job is to market, market, market to get people to attend your free (or modestly priced) introductory event! All you need to do is plan a series of email or written invitations. For example: right now I’m in the middle of two campaigns. One is for a free teleseminar series, where I am launching a brand new HorseWise Brilliance Unbridled VIP program (by the way – you’re invited to join me for these two free pre-view calls!). The other campaign is for my husband, Richard’s business, www.UpswingCoaching.com. His preview is a modestly priced in-person half-day introductory seminar. To promote my preview calls, I have a carefully timed email campaign planned to encourage as many registrations, and people on the live call, as possible. With over 200 people registered so far, my plan is working. For Richard’s event, we just mailed out 200 invitations that we printed ourselves. His plan includes personal follow up phone calls to each person invited, with the goal of filling 40 seats at his introductory seminar. Preview events work because you give your prospective clients something easy to say “yes” to. Just be sure that even though it’s a preview, you deliver a generous helping of valuable content and minimize the sales pitch. Aim for 80% content and 20% sales information and your audience won’t mind a bit. So, switch your focus from marketing your final goal to promoting a virtual or in-person preview, plan a series of invitations, and see how much easier it is to launch your next important program, service, or product! What Advanced Degrees You Need to Work in the Real Estate Field

By Larry Hudson If you are one intending to start a real estate career you might be interested about advanced degrees you need and what they mean in the real estate field. Since so many people do go on to college now, you might also wondering, if a person is going to college, what would be the best degree for the real estate business? Marketing? Finance? In a way the answer is very simple. As most people working in this industry are barely literate, in real estate they keep score in dollars not degrees. But speaking more to the point, there are quite a number of universities that offer bachelors and masters degree programs in real estate. And most community colleges offer associate (two-year) degrees in real estate. Doctorates are harder to find, but there are at least a couple of universities in the United States. that offer them. And yes the fact is that the paper on the wall will make more money for you. Will it make more than it costs? That is a harder question to answer. If you are going to teach or write about real estate, then the answer is yes. If you are going to sell real estate, probably not. If you are going to be an investor, definitely not. Not that education is not useful for an investor, but the kind of education an investor profits from is the kind learned on the street, not in the classroom. Seven Steps to a Happy House Move

By Sharon Hurley Hall I confess – I’m a serial house mover. I have moved house nearly 20 times in five different countries. Most of the time I’ve done it myself with the help of a few friends. While the process is very stressful, I’ve come up with a few ways to cut down on the hassle – and I’d like to share these with you. 1. Take it down (or up) Everything you move has to go through your front door, so it makes sense to have your belongings as close to the exit as possible. Make sure you get everything down from the attic (or up from the cellar) before moving day. Anything that’s there, you probably don’t use every day, anyway. Put the boxes in a room you can do without for a while and stack them three or four high. Try to keep the piles relatively even, so they won’t fall on you or your children. (This has happened to me before and it was a pain to have to re-stack all the boxes). 2. Clear the clutter When you’re moving things out of the loft or cellar, be ruthless and clear out anything you haven’t used in the last two years. The same goes for the garage and for the garden shed. Every piece of junk you keep is one more thing to load and unload. By the end of move day, you’ll wish you hadn’t bothered. This is one my partner learned the hard way. The last time we moved, he insisted on moving a rickety piece of furniture which we ended up taking to the dump on move day. Take it from me, the last thing you want to do is add any extra trips to the schedule. There is one advantage of moving, though. It’s a good time to lose that unwanted Christmas or birthday gift. (Remember not to look too sad when you explain what happened or you might get a replacement.) 3. Spend to save your back When hiring a van, don’t cut corners. Spend a bit more and get a van with a tail-lift. That will cut down on the backache and will be invaluable, especially for the larger furniture items. Buy or borrow a heavy duty trolley of some kind and you’ll have almost all the bases covered. When booking a van, look for a company that will allow you to either pick it up the night before the move (to get a head start on the loading) or return it the day after (so you can collapse into bed at night without watching the clock). 4. Think inside the box! Keep packing boxes small and manageable and your back will thank you. Paper boxes (you can get a few from your office) are perfect for packing books, CDs, DVDs, tapes and other small items. Confectionery boxes are also a good size for packing. Ask your local shop to save you a few. They will need to be reinforced, though. If you have a baby or toddler, you’ve probably bought a Pampers multi-pack box at some time. Save them – those boxes are strong and solid (and they have handles). Finally, your local bookstore may be able to supply some small book boxes. These are very strong and you can be sure that your stuff won’t fall out mid-move. 5. Bubble, bubble … Fragile items should be wrapped very carefully. The best packing items are newsprint and bubble wrap. Beg or buy large sheets of unprinted newsprint or ends of rolls from your local printer. A dirtier (but still effective) alternative is the good old Sunday paper (the bigger, the better). There’s always more stuff to be wrapped than you think. If you prefer to keep it clean, use bubble wrap – if you get really bored, you can pop a few bubbles while you pack. Mattresses are quite heavy, and you’ll usually drop at least one corner during the move. (After three moves in the rain, my old pale yellow mattress was quite filthy.) I recommend that you wrap all mattresses, otherwise you’ll be sleeping on dirt for years. Garbage bags and packing tape are useful for wrapping large items such as these, but even better are big dust sheets from your local hardware store. 6. Make your mark Most people label boxes according to where they want them to go in the new house, but I recommend that you also mark where they’ve come from in the old house. You’ll have a much better idea of where to find that elusive vase for the welcome flowers the new neighbors have brought you, because you’ll know exactly where that was in the old house. Labels should be placed or written on the top and at least two sides so you won’t have to lift every box to find out what’s in it. Help your move-day helpers to help you by making some signs for the new house (Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2, Office etc) so they will know where each box should go. Otherwise, they’ll just put stuff down anywhere and you’ll struggle to find it. 7. Essential services Get together a move day essentials box. This should have a bottle of mineral water, a couple of snack bars and a roll of toilet paper, as well as tea and coffee fixings and a kettle. Put your hammer, drill and screwdriver set as well as a few nails, screws and wall plugs in another essentials box. A couple of light bulbs may also come in handy, as will a roll of garbage bags and some large dust sheets in case it’s a wet day (you don’t want mud all over the new carpet, do you?) I have to be honest. Moving is still a stressful process, even for me, but I don’t tend to break anything I need and can always find my belongings easily. Give these steps a try and your house move will be much less hassle. Happy moving! Sharon Hurley Hall is a freelance writer, ghostwriter and editor. Top 3 Reasons Why Baby Crawling Must Be Done Correctly

By Dalene Joubert Parents universally accept baby crawling as THE one milestone all infants must master. But despite this widespread acceptance, few realize why it is so important. And how to make sure their baby benefits most learning this skill. Through crawling babies learn and discover spatial concepts like under, over, in and out. This skill also gives babies vital sensory stimulation through their hands and knees which is vital for gross and fine muscle development. In short, they learn skills necessary to stand, walk and write correctly. Research shows that many children who never crawled properly often struggle with poor balance. Some of them struggle to ride a bicycle. Others are simply clumsy. And then there are also the ones who often fall and injure themselves. Many variations of baby movement exist. But the important question is: do all these different ways of crawling give the same benefit? Do variation of movement or locomotion like bear walking, bum shuffling, commando style crawling, ordinary crawling and sometimes forward rolling all give the same development benefit? The answer in short is no. Not all movement “styles” give the same development benefit as “traditional” crawling. Traditional or normal crawling alternatively uses both arms and knees – straight arms and on knees – to move forward or sometimes even backwards. Moving backwards is often found when babies are just learning to crawl. This is a normal development pattern. And nothing to worry about. The biggest benefits your baby get from ordinary baby crawling comes from two things Firstly, learning to simultaneously bear weight on both arms and legs, and… Secondly, learning to alternatively use opposing arms and legs to move forward stimulates both brain halves. Learning to bear weight on arms and legs develops and improves equilibrium and balance. Babies without this experience almost always struggle with these skills later on. This lack is often obvious in below-average sporting abilities. Commando style crawling as well as bum shuffling and even rolling forward (we’re specifically only talking about rolling to get from one point to another) do not give the same weight bearing stimulation. But there’s a third more important thing about learning to crawl. The ability to use both legs and arms to crawl normally is more often than not a good indication that a baby is still developing normally. Stated a little differently There’s usually a deeper, more important reason that needs further attention should a baby fail to master normal crawling. It is often due to some physical inability or development delay. And it’s easy for professionals to treat and overcome such inablity once it is identified. But, at what stage should you consult a pediatrician or therapist? A golden rule of thumb is to do so if your baby is 12 months or older and still doesn’t crawl. Perhaps one of the most frequently noted reasons that babies fail in getting a complete development experience is failing to properly master normal baby crawling. One of the biggest advantages any parent can give their child is to closely measure and monitor development. And one of the most important measurements is their baby’s ability to crawl correctly… at the right age. Millions Have Misused ADHD Drugs

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jeannine_Virtue] Jeannine Virtue A study released this week estimates that more than 7 million Americans have misused Adderall, Ritalin and other stimulant medications used to treat ADHD, and that 75,000 showed signs of addiction to stimulant medications. This recent study, published in the online journal Drug and Alcohol Dependence, culled data from a 2002 national survey of about 67,000 households. Research found that men and women were equally likely to abuse ADHD medications but that women seemed to be at a greater risk for dependency. Men, on the other hand, seemed to be at a greater risk of abuse. A surprising aspect of this study was in revealing who is most likely to misuse stimulant drugs. Most often, college students abuse Adderall and Ritalin in an attempt to boost their academic performance. A previous study showed that stimulant drugs are most commonly abused in highly competitive colleges, with B-average and below college students twice as likely to illegally use prescription drugs. College student increasingly recognize that Adderall and Ritalin are much more effective than coffee or caffeine pills at helping them sit down, focus, get their work done – through the night if necessary – and still not interfere with their social lives. The drug use becomes a significant problem when college students start to abuse Adderall and other amphetamine drugs, becoming addicted to them or experiencing toxic effects. With approximately 1.5 million adults and 2.5 million children currently receiving prescriptions for ADHD medications, finding a friend or a friend of a friend willing to sell off their drugs is not very difficult for many people. Most students reported getting Adderall, the stimulant of choice due to its long lasting effects, from those that were diagnosed with ADHD. One Adderall pill can fetch $5, which makes selling off prescription meds a lucrative deal for those with access to the drugs. Colleges and universities are also reporting a sharp increase in the amount of students making appointments at campus medical centers to obtain their own ADD diagnosis. Not until recently have studies examined the abuse of prescription drugs. One study revealed that those who use prescription stimulants are more likely to engage in binge drinking, drunk driving, and using illegal drugs as well. Another study indicated that those from wealthier backgrounds were more likely to abuse both legal and illegal drugs. In light of these past studies and the new study showing the high rate of abuse and addiction, some experts believe that the real focus of ADHD medication dangers should center on the abuse of Adderall and other ADHD drugs – not the side effects. Researchers point out that 75,000 people addicted to stimulants is more worrisome than the 100-200 adults who have had strokes as a result of using stimulant ADHD drugs. Earlier this month, the FDA advisory panel recommended that the FDA put Black Box warnings on all ADHD medications. This black box warning – the most severe of all FDA warnings – would state that stimulant ADHD drugs can cause cardiovascular events and even death, especially if theres a preexisting heart condition. The FDA panel expressed a hope of curtailing what is seen as out-of-control over-prescribing of potentially dangerous drugs. Prescriptions for ADHD drugs have doubled over the past five years. The hope is that the black box warning will remind parents that just because a drug is legal does not mean it is safe. Ritalin, Adderall and Concerta are Class B drugs and are in the same drug class as cocaine. These drugs have potential for abuse, addiction and physical and mental harm – just as other drugs in this elevated classification do. Admiring Wild Flowers

By Jonathon Hardcastle Walking with my family close to nature during late Sunday times has been a practice that I definitely enjoyed while I was a kid. Especially, if these long walks took place during spring time, I became extremely excited since I was able to admire all those wild flowers that attracted my attention and collect as many as I wanted for my bedroom’s vase. As during the past few years I’ve read about, and have seen more interest in wildflowers, I figured it was about time to jump in and add my two cents. Planting wild flowers in your backyard is not as an easy process as you might imagine. Just because the flowers you select to plant belong to the “wild” type that does not mean that they are able to survive without any attention or be sprayed with harmful pesticides. First of all, the one interested in exploring the wild flowers business has to understand what kind of neighborhood wildflowers would be appropriate for the specific situation he or she lives in. It is true that wild flowers tend to prefer wide open spaces with at least 8 hours of sunshine each day. It is also true, they are sun worshipers. They also like the soil to be rich in nutrients and well drained. What wild flowers do not like is the hard packed soil and also being watered for long periods of time. If you garden tends to be frequently wet, wildflowers might not be the best choice for your outdoor surroundings. But, wildflowers can be used for weed control and with a great deal of success. It is better though if you have to give wildflowers a start or the weeds will keep the area free from your original goal of a beautiful wildflower garden. Since both love the sun, weeds and wildflowers try both to reach the surface of the ground so as to gain as much sunlight as possible. Neither will grow well without adequate sunlight. Using this information to your advantage and you can end up with a beautiful bed of wildflowers that requires little maintenance. The Wild Flower Preservation Society, whose headquarters are in Washington, D.C., makes the following recommendation to wild flower fans, “Do not pick or dig up wild flowers in quantity unless they are abundant or weedy. Wild flowers that are not abundant should be picked or dug up very sparingly.” If the years I used to pick up wild flowers have long passed, perhaps it is time to grow some of my own in my back yard and share them with the people I care about. If you belong to the same group, there is always a good possibility we will meet in one of those flower markets, someday down the road.
